Meaza Hagos is an accomplished independent national consultant with over 13 years of professional experience in research, monitoring, and evaluation, focusing on gender analysis, migration, and rural development. She holds a Master's degree in Environmental Science with a specialization in Environmental Planning and Management from UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Haramaya University in Ethiopia. Fluent in Amharic, Tigregna, and English, her technical expertise includes utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research methods for comprehensive program evaluations, with notable collaborations with organizations such as ILO, UNICEF, GIZ, SNV and CARE. Meaza has led evaluations and contributed significantly to projects aimed at enhancing gender strategies, improving migration governance, and advancing women’s participation in decision-making. Her work spans across Ethiopia and into regional projects in East Africa, demonstrating her strong capabilities in managing diverse views and facilitating effective communication among stakeholders.
